A record number of hectares of farmland has been logged in Peru in a bid to grow more wheat.
The Agriculture Ministry reported that almost one million hectares (1.9 million acres) of land had been cleared in the past week.
It reported that the land was cleared in areas of the north-eastern state of Quilotoa and the Amazon River delta of the northern province of Querétaro.
This is the second week in a row that the government has cleared the land.
In November, it cleared 1.2 million hectares, the second largest clearing in a single month in Peru.
