Lowes is rolling out its newest lawn fertilizer product, called the Ditchweed Plus, which uses compost as the main ingredient.
The company says the product will last up to seven years.
Lowes says the Ditchingweed Plus uses about two-thirds less water than traditional lawn fertilizer and uses less energy.
The Ditchingweeds Plus contains about 80 percent less water, and the company says it can produce up to 3,000 pounds of weedless grass each month.
Lowes also says the company is now working with a variety of universities to develop the product.
